James L. Walker IV

 

James "Jake" Walker began practicing law in Marin County, CA in 1976. He earnd a California State Bar Certified Specialist in Estate Planning,Trust and Probate law and has a Masters degree in taxation. He was awarded an AV rating, the highest possible, by Martindale-Hubbell, Inc. in 1999 and was named a Super Lawyer in Northern California in 2009 by Law & Politics Magazine. Jake's practice area focuses upon estate planning, probate and trust administration, wills and trusts, charitable giving arrangements, liability protection planning,  tax reduction strategies, business entity formation and operations, real estate sales and financing transactions, and family matter contracts.

In 2009 Jake was named  as one of the top attorneys in Northern California by California Super Lawyers magazine. Only five percent of the lawyers in the state are named by Super Lawyers.  The selections for Super Lawyers are made by Law & Politics, a division of Key Professional Media, Inc. of Minneapolis, Minn. Each year, Law & Politics undertakes a rigorous multi-phase selection process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, independent evaluation of candidates by Law & Politics’ attorney-led research staff, a peer review of candidates by practice area, and a good-standing and disciplinary check.

An active member of the community, Jake has served on the Boards of the Kentfield Schools Foundation, The Marin Property Owners Association and Marin Village, among others.  A San Francisco native, he has practiced law in Marin County for nearly 35 years.
